Elizabeth Woods Obituary

Elizabeth Jean Brown Woods (Lil) made her peaceful transition to her heavenly home on Saturday, January 15, 2022, while surrounded by family and loved ones. Elizabeth was born May 3, 1938, in Andersonville, TN. She came to Christ at an early age and loved praising God. She was married to the love of her life, Charles Woods, and together they reared six children. She was truly devoted to her children and grandchildren, and she was their biggest fan and supporter.

Elizabeth taught her family the importance of God, loving and protecting each other, coming together, respect and hard work. She also, earned the respect and friendship of many. She had a real love for people and their wellbeing. She fell in love with every person she met. She also loved traveling, doing things with her hands, cooking huge dinners for her family, gardening, a good game of cards, taking her kids fishing, and don’t let us forget her love for raising chickens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack H. Brown, Ruth Mickends Brown and three brothers, Arlon J. C. Brown, Arthur H. W. Brown and Franklin M. C. Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband, Charles E. Woods; six children, Earnestine (Robert) Sloan of Oak Ridge, TN; Charles “Bear” (Penney) Brown and Teresa “Cissy” (Jeff) Burum of Oliver Springs, TN; Richard (Anne) Brown of Clinton TN; Joyce (Ronnie) Washington of Knoxville TN; and Bronson (Brandy) Woods of Oliver Springs TN. She was blessed with sixteen grandchildren ( Lee, Kandise, Jessica, Brandon, Kristen, Landon, Michael, Heather, Stephanie, Danielle, Devin, Craig, Chelsey, Braxton, Jaylon, and Reese) and a host of great-grandchildren. Also, left to cherish her memories are Sister-in law, Lorean Woods, and brother in-law Donnie Woods both of Cincinnati Ohio, nieces, nephews, special friend, Juan and Jessica Torrez, and numerous other family members and friends. A great big Thanks to her loving Caregivers, Anderson County EMS team, Dr. Clint Doiron, and Dr. David England who not only gave her great care but were her friends.
