Geraldetta M. Dozier, aka Monga, entered eternal rest on November 30, 2023. She drove for Knoxville Area Transit and retired in 2002, being the first black female driver of a Knoxville city bus. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend and son, James Hodge, aka Jamie; she loved family gatherings and road trips with friends.
Geraldetta was preceded in death by her husband, Walter F. Dozier; her grandmother, Sophornia Hodge; her father, John Hodge; and her mother, Della M. (Clarence E. Sr.) Harris, who was a great stepdad; her brothers, John Anderson, Norman V. Hodge Sr., Clarence E. Harris Jr.; her sister, Sonja Sherrine Lytle; and niece Crystal Hodge.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her son and best friend, James (Jennifer) Hodge; her sister, Wilma (Robert) Gordon; her twin brother, Gerald M. (Kathy) Hodge Sr.; her grandkids, Jermorra, Khadijah, Jarius, and Gabrielle; her great-grandkids Nataliee, Giovanni, Aamor, Aamirah; her nieces and great nieces, Stephanie, Tasha, Karisma, and Essence; her nephews and great-nephews, Robert Jr., Corey, Gerald Jr., Tre’, Jeremiah, Shafiyq, LiL Robert; her best friends and cousins, Ingrid Davena Dale and Marlena Beal; her longtime friend Jeannie Roberts-Parks; her special friends, Helen Smith and Tracy and many others. She also leaves behind family and friends of the Miller, Armstrong, Brabson, and Tippet families.
Thanks to the Dialysis Center and the doctors who helped with her care. Special thank you to Dr. Bae. Thank you for the care that you gave her and all your patients. May God bless you and your family.
