Gloria Jean Anderson Batiste, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Oak Ridge, TN took flight for her eternal home, on April 10, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Gladys Anderson.

Gloria was a graduate of Oak Ridge High Class of 1972. She received her MA degree in Education and B.S in Business Administration from Tusculum College, Greeneville, TN with honors.

Her professional career included numerous years of employment with Government Contractors at several sites (ORNL, K-25/ETTP, Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN and SRS, Aiken, SC). She retired early as a Human Resource Administrator from Bechtel Jacobs Company (K-25/ETTP) with 28 years of total service in 2003. She retired also from the Y-12 National Security Complex as a Compliance Training Manager after 12 years of service in 2017. She also worked as a teacher at Haslam Academy of Knoxville with the Child and Family Services of Tennessee and served as Director of After Care for Christian Academy of Knoxville. She enjoyed working with people and children.

She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Order of the Eastern Star and True Light Missionary Baptist Church of Solway, TN. She enjoyed traveling the world and helping those in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents Woodrow and Gladys Anderson, brothers James Melvin Anderson and Woodrow Anderson, Jr., sisters Barbara Ann Nance and Mary Martin, niece Johnisha Anderson and nephews Ronnie, Norris, and Terry Patton.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughters:  Shalonda (Christopher) Taylor and Kia Batiste of Knoxville, TN; grandsons, Cain, Ja’Lyn, and Kiante Taylor of Knoxville, TN; sisters; Dorothy Patton  of Jackson, MS, Alice Anderson and Vickie Thompson of Oak Ridge TN, Phyllis Watts of Knoxville, TN, and brother, David Anderson of Chattanooga, TN; beloved Clarissa (Alphonso/Alquianna) Davidson of Knoxville, TN, Robbin Schneider of Knoxville, TN and Mhiz Heaven of Montego Bay, Jamaica; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of  friends.
