Imogene Woodfin Obituary

Imogene Revels Woodfin was born on January 28, 1943, to the late Arnett Revels Sr. and Elizabeth Revels. She departed this life on February 13, 2026. She graduated from Charles M. Hall High School, Class of 1961. Imogene retired from Baptist Hospital after 44 years of faithful service as an LPN.

Imogene was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Until recent months, she attended GMLA Church, where Pastor Fidel Anighoro serves as pastor. She attended church with Gladys Farmer, whom she loved like a daughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel U. Woodfin Sr., to whom she was married for nearly 45 years; her grandparents, Ralph and Bertha Hodges and Amos and Ellen Revels; her sisters, Doris Carson, Janice Upton, and Cheryl Wilson; brothers-in-law, William Woodfin and Raymond Woodfin; her niece, Robyn Rainer; and great nephew, Jeffrey Revels.

Imogene leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Tamara (Daniel Jr.) Hinton; her son, Samuel Woodfin Jr.; her step-daughter, Jacqueline (Victor) Roberts; her brother, Arnett (Jean) Revels Jr.; her sister, Beverly (Jim) Warren; her brother-in-law, Frank Wilson; and her sisters-in-law, Juanita Asbury and Doris Woodfin.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Darius Roberts, Samantha and Thomas Bell, Alexis, Trevor, and Dominic Hinton; and her step-grandchildren, Devyne and Marcellus Roberts.

Imogene leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, countless family members, friends, classmates, and co-workers too numerous to name—but please know that she loved each and every one of you. She cherished her late night phone conversations with her sisters and treasured her long talks with her brother. She shared something special with everyone she encountered. She will truly be missed.
