Ingrid Dale Obituary

Ingrid Davena Carero Dale, affectionately known as Davena or Dave, passed away on March 11th, 2024. Born on November 27th, 1952, to the late Wilma Rosalie Brabson Carero and David Carero. Davena's spirit and vivacity left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her.

Davena's life was one of passion and courage, a testament to her kind-hearted nature. Her laughter and strong-willed spirit filled every room, and her love for life was contagious. She was a beacon of strength and resilience.

A retired UPS worker, Davena dedicated over 30 years to her job, where she was known for her strong work ethic and vibrant personality. Despite being habitually late and known for accumulating speeding tickets and police escorts on her way to work, her colleagues enjoyed her presence and her commitment to her role. Davena was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Davena loved fishing, took pride in her gardening and yard work, and had a deep-rooted passion for helping the homeless and supporting her family. Her actions spoke volumes about her character, as she consistently put the needs of others before her own.

Family was the cornerstone of Davena's life. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Wilma Rosalie, father David; siblings Claudia, Wade, Edris, Sheldon Carero; son Desmond M. Dale; and cousin, Geraldetta Dozier.

She will be remembered by her long-time partner Jueroy (Lee) Jackson, daughters Reda Michelle Stephens (Tony) Teasley and Soyinka (Nikki) Smith, son Ziberia (Rico) Carero Dale, siblings Louise Robinson of East Hartford, CT, Tanya and Victor Carero, Vernon (Robin) Valentine and her adored grandchildren Arisa Spencer, Taylor Teasley, Christian, Dominic, and Darryan Smith, and Tyquaisha Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Davena's circle of love extended to her close-knit group of friends, including her prayer warriors, long-time sister friend Kay Buckmon, and buddy Ronnie Cantrell. Each of them played a significant role in her life, offering support, laughter, and companionship through the years.

As we bid farewell to Davena, celebrating her life, a journey marked by love, kindness, and an unwavering spirit. May her legacy inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. We take comfort in knowing that Davena's light will continue to shine through the lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind.

In honoring Davena's memory, we reflect on her impact on all of us and the void that her passing leaves in our hearts. She will be profoundly missed, yet we rejoice in the fact that her life was a beautiful reminder of the power of kindness and the importance of living each day with passion and courage.

Davena's life story is one of love, laughter, and service to others, and it is with these thoughts that we celebrate her remarkable journey. May she rest in peace, knowing that her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her.
