James A. Moulden went home peacefully to be with the Lord at his home on Thursday, May 18, 2023. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife Sharron whom he was united in holy matrimony on December 28, 1985. James is also survived by children April Moulden and Shawn Thomas both of Oak Ridge, TN.
James’ journey began in Concord, Tennessee to the union of Arthur and Gladys Moulden who pre-deceased him. He is also pre-deceased by his sister Daisey Tate.
James worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a Truck Driver, retiring in October 1998 after 27 years of loyal service.
James joined church at a young age at The Organized Church of God in Concord, TN. James was a member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized on December 6, 1987, under the pastorate of Rev. Dozier E. McKinnon. He served as an Usher until his health declined.
James successfully finished his education in 1976, attending Concord Elementary, Vine Middle/High School, and Knoxville Business College.
James frequently devoted time to reading scripture and communing with the Lord. In addition, he had a passion for sports and enjoyed watching a variety of events, ranging from football to tennis. When he wasn't cheering on his favorite teams, he could often be found indulging in classic Westerns on television. James found pleasure in fishing and cherishing moments with his loved one
In addition to his wife and children, James is survived by his nephews Henry Tate (Deneen) (Chicago, IL); Henry Tate III (Florida); niece Elizabeth McFarland (Nashville, TN); cousins Betty Franklin (Knoxville, TN); Marshall Kelso (Knoxville, TN); Nancy Alexander (Atlanta, GA); brothers-in-law Michael Rafton (Atlanta, GA) and Kayvin Grate (Oak Ridge, TN); sister-in-law Lucille Griffin (Knoxville, TN) and many other family members and friends.
