James Leroy Walker Jr (Junior) passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022. Junior was born at Fort Sanders Hospital on June 22, 1969 and relocated to Conyers, GA 3 years ago.
Preceded in death; father James Walker Sr, sister Angela Prater, daughter Jasmine Walker, grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins, and nephew.
He graduated from Fulton High, Class of 1987. Junior was quiet in school and didn’t surround himself with many people, but after graduating high school, he was a social butterfly. He loved all his family and friends.
He enjoyed a significant number of vacations with family to New Orleans, Myrtle Beach, Orlando, Hilton Head, and Tybee Island. In 2017, he cruised with family on the open sea to Labadee, Haiti, Falmouth, Jamaica, and Cozumel, Mexico. As well as in 2019, he cruised to Basseterre St Kitts, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Nassau Bahamas.
Junior is survived by his loving mother, Ruby Woods, sisters Sherry Wynn (Bryant) (Knoxville TN), Robin McCrear (Gary) (Covington, GA), & brother Tyrone Walker, God brother Scott Dyer (both in Knoxville, TN); sons; James Walker III, Tomazo Walker. daughter; Angela Walker (all 3 in Knoxville, TN). stepchildren; Tanisha O’Neal, Dedrick Soles; favorite cousins (like brothers); Charles Brown, Robert Boyd, Derrick Cody, Marcus Wilkerson, John Avery; favorite nephews; Zavion Walker, Brandon Buley, Patrick Hayes. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends, extended families, and two beautiful granddaughters; and a special friend for over 30 years; Mary Soles.
Saturday, August 13, 2022, family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Community Evangelistic Church, 2650 Boyds Bridge Pike, Knoxville, TN. Social distancing and face coverings are required. A Celebration of Life service will follow . Elder Reginald Strong will officiate. Flowers may be delivered to the church prior to the service.
