Janice Davis Young Obituary
Janice D. Young, known affectionately as Jano, passed away on July 8, 2024, at the age of 67 in Farragut, Tennessee. Born in Dayton, Ohio on August 27, 1956, Janice was the cherished daughter of the late Wallace and Christine Davis. Janice lived a life marked with a profound curiosity for the world and a deep commitment to the well-being of children.
Janice’s educational journey included graduation from Julienne High School on May 27, 1973. She attended Ohio State University majoring in engineering.
Her professional career spanned many years where she dedicated years of service to several notable medical facilities and institutions. This included The Kaufmann Clinic, Del Mazo Medical Clinic, and working alongside Nathan Siegel, M.D. as well as her 23 years with QRS Healthcare Solutions. While there, she wore many hats. She was Support Manager, EHR Product Specialist, EHR Support Manager, and finally landing as PARADIGM Support Manager.
Janice was a devout member of Antioch Baptist Church North in Atlanta, GA. She later attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. Janice found great solace and community through her faith.
Her passions extended beyond her professional and spiritual life. Janice was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. She also had a passion for the arts and was a fervent supporter. She took immense pleasure in cooking, gardening, reading, and traveling. She had a knack for decorative arts. She enjoyed exploring cultures worldwide and mastering many languages. Her zest for life and the joy she found in her hobbies were evident to all who knew her.
Janice had a unique love for children as was evident in her mentoring of “Tara" through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. She had an ardent desire to write a children’s book. Her love for animals was evident from her younger days, particularly her cherished furry friendly Keeshond.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Christine Davis, and her aunt, Luella Henderson. Janice’s legacy of love and curiosity remains a beacon to all who knew her.
Jano’s warmth, intelligence and kindness profoundly touched all facets of her community and she will be deeply missed by her “sister” and “Bestest” friend – ZeeBird (whom she affectionately named), her adopted family – the Bush clan, her co-workers, neighbors, Dayton childhood friends especially BreNita, Knoxville and Cincinnati friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters in her memory, honoring her love for supporting children’s growth and well-being.
