Deacon Anthony Hancock became a household name and she would say he’s “Johnny on the Spot”. Jeanette would say Deacon Hancock called to check on me, brought me something , or he prayed the best prayer. When you entered her house her theme movie would be Perry Mason, she would watch the episodes day and night every day. She was a professional shopper with QVC, Walmart, Overstock.com, Sam’s and various others. Her favorite foods were fried chicken (Bojangles), turnip greens and Blue Bell Ice Cream. Her hobbies were cross stitching, crochet, word search, and plants (African Violet). She had her own personal driver who was her son-in-law, Earl Williams. He took her to grocery stores, doctor appointments and anywhere else she requested. Jeanette will be remembered for her famous homemade rolls, caramel cakes, Christmas tree cookies, fudge, jello pie, cornbread dressing and candied sweet potatoes.
