Jeffrey Christopher Porter was born on August 9, 1960 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He went to our heavenly Father on December 28, 2022 at his home. He was the son of the late Alva Arnett and Carlton McPherson.
Jeffrey graduated from Austin-East High School class of 1978, where he played basketball and baseball. He retired from Knox County Schools in 2015. Jeffery served in the U.S. Army for many years.
He was a member of Kingdom Life Church of Knoxville under the leadership of the late Bishop Gary E. Wright, Frenchie Wright, and Bishop Farris L. Long Jr.
Preceded in death by his loving Mother, Alva Porter- Arnett; Grandparents: Alma and Robert Porter Sr. and Allen and Catherine McPherson; Brother: Anthony McPherson and Uncle Robert Porter Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving devoted wife Latiesha Porter; Father: Carlton McPherson (Elizabeth Ann Dingus); Step-father: James “Jimmy” Arnett; Mother- in-law: Saundra (Felix) Phillips; Children: Jeffrey Jr. and Tereka Porter, Christopher Porter- Bunton, Wylie Jaran (JeanAnn) Smith and Nakiya Smith (Reggie Boyd); Sisters: Ingrid Porter (Robert Purcell), Stephanie Davis, Carolyn (Derrick) Lundy, and Karen McPherson; Devoted caregiver and sister-in-law: Monica (Steve) McMullen; Brother-in-law: Robert Roebuck; Grandchildren: Jamya, Madilyn, and Braelyn Smith, Latravious “Trayran” Whetstone, Jayla, Kylan, and Rylan Boyd, Javoni Porter, and Alaina Porter-Bunton; Nieces and Nephews: Jahadia Conwell, Monique Conwell (Mark Harshaw), Anthonisha (Mark) Andrews, Zerconia Davis, Erica Rainer, Anthony (Dannisha) McAlister; Great- nieces and nephews: Ja’Doriauna, Chloe, Saniya, Kena’d, Demarcus, Rolondo, Zayvion, Adan, Amoni, and I’Aayla; Devoted Aunts: Josephine Smith, Emma Johnson, Patricia White, Charlene Hamilton, and a host of relatives to include: Porter, Clark, Strong, Long, Bush, Chandler, Buley, Scruggs, McPherson, Battle, Robinson, Penson, Davis, Angels, Martin, White, Beals, Hamilton, Love, Johnson, Fortson, and Smith family; Devoted friends: Victor Carero, Derek Conwell, Vincent Bo (Betty) Martin, Darius(Jaqueline) Sanders, Madilyn Sanders, Tyrone “Blueman” Thomas,Jarmon (Janet) Watts, Clemons family, Jerveece Steele, Vivian Williams, Kenny Buford, Talisha Anderson, and Latravious Whetstone.
