Jennifer Marie Lane was the first child born to the late Janna Grace Manning Lane Fowler and Charles Lane on June 29, 1956, in Knoxville, TN. She moved with her family to Kokomo, IN at a young age. She departed her earthly life on December 21, 2025, at Community South Hospital in Greenwood, IN.

Jennifer was educated in the Knoxville City Schools and the Kokomo, Indiana Schools. She graduated from Kokomo High School in the 100th class in 1974. She loved writing poetry and songs. She was a good cook and could whip up a great meal from whatever she had on hand. Her specialty was spaghetti, which she made with Welch’s grape jelly and Prego sauce. Family was important to Jennifer, and she loved her son, grandson, and other family members dearly.

She learned about the Lord going to church with her mother and grandmothers. She knew the Word and could quote scriptures. Sunday School was one of her favorite parts of Sunday. She loved being engaged in discussions about the lessons. In Indiana, she worshipped at Grace Memorial Church of God in Christ, and in Tennessee, she worshipped at Cherry Street Church of God Sanctified. She dearly loved God and the Church.

Jennifer is preceded in death by her parents, Janna Grace Manning Lane Fowler and Charles Lane; stepmother, Helen Lane; brother, Charles Lane; and special friends, Mother Dorothy Joseph and Elaine Williams (Aunt Laine).

She leaves to cherish her memory son, Roderick D. Cole; grandson, Solomon Cole; sisters, Robyn (Dana) Randolph, and Angela Rockeymoore; brother, Andrew Manning; nieces and nephews, Charles T. Lane, Chara (John) Harris, Zora E., Alysha G., and Noah M. Rockeymoore, Jeremy C. Manning, Danaya J. (CJ) Bryson, Camryn Randolph and Grace Manning; aunts, Andrenia Manning, Eleanor Manning, and Mamosa Foster; caregiver and special sister-in-law, Sherra Lane Hunt; special friend and caregiver, Cheryl (Michael) Simmons; other special friends, Jeffrey Cole, Gigi Floyd, Andrea Ferguson, Maureen Joseph, Starla Draper, Angela Washington, and Sonya Washington; and many cousins and other friends.
