Jerry L Thaxton

Jerry Lee Thaxton, age 74, of Knoxville, went peacefully to be with his heavenly father on Friday, October 6, 2023.

Jerry graduated from East High School class of 1966. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving from September 1968 to September 1974. Jerry retired from Teton Trucking Company and later worked for First Transit in Knoxville, TN. He loved music and all sports but was a die-hard VOLS fan. GO VOLS.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Carol Thaxton and Helen “PollyAnn” Thaxton (Preston Anderson); brother, David Aaron Thaxton.

He is survived by his children Tracy Thaxton, Tiffany Gordon, and Rashad Thaxton (Kimberly Thaxton); grandchildren, Sierra Thaxton, Mecca Gordon, Damon Patrick, De’Andre Thaxton, Bryant Thaxton, Taylor Styles, Vivian Gordon, and Zora Gordon; great-grandchildren: Jazelle Boatwright, Jacee Boatwright, and Jaidence Boatwright. He had a host of nieces, nephews, and many beloved cousins and friends.
