Mr. John Henry Richey was born March 2, 1952 in Talladega County, Alabama to the union of Daniel Clay Richey and Ever Nell Suttle Richey.
John was an avid believer in his savior, Jesus Christ, and expressed his salvation to family members.
He was educated by the Talladega County School System. He joined the United States Army at the age of 17 serving our country for 7 years. He worked in the steel industry, Kilby Steel of Anniston, AL and Ameri-Steel (Gerdau) Knoxville, TN, for 38 years.
On Saturday, March 3, 2018, he was called to his eternal home while at his residence. He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Ever Nell Richey; brothers: Daniel Richey, Jr. and Timothy Richey.
He leaves to cherish in his memories, Dorothy Richey; three sons: Michael Turner, John Richey, and Steve Richey of Knoxville, TN; special niece, Burnell Bell; five sisters: Mary Nell Lee of Knoxville, TN, Rosa Nell Whatley and Margaret Woodard of Anniston, AL, Maquilla (Marvin) Gooden of Talladega, AL, Debra Johnson of Knoxville, TN; and one brother, Arnold Richey of Knoxville, TN; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special friend, Robert Patton of Knoxville, TN; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
On Saturday, March 17, 2018 the family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 with services to follow at Parker Memorial Church, Eastaboga, Alabama. Reverend Anthony Anderson Officiating.
