Johnnisha Louise Cotner was born September 14, 1971, in Cape May, New Jersey to Linda (Bolden) Cotner and John Louis Cotner, Jr. She was the middle child and only girl born to this union. Nisha, as she was affectionately called, was the apple of her mother’s eye and definitely “Daddy’s little girl.” She was reared in love and surrounded by love her entire life. From the devoted love of her parents, adoring love of her brothers, affectionate love for the multitude of family members, friends, and co-workers, but most importantly the unconditional love for her sons, Jamarl, Jermaine, and Javonte.

A true BOYMOM, who always dreamt of a cute little princess one day, was blessed with her first and only granddaughter and five grandsons. Nisha loved her grandbabies! The role of Nanna was one of her greatest joys. Nisha, always an academic achiever and a proud graduate of Austin East High, Class of 1989, had a quiet and sometimes timid disposition most of her life except when it came to her work ethic. She was a hardworking person beginning at an early age from summer jobs to a longstanding career in the food retail industry. Johnnisha had over 20 years with Food City Stores, one of the top grocery store chains in the region, working her way up to Bakery Deli Manager. Her department received several accolades that were a clear result of Johnnisha’s leadership, dedication, knowledge, and concept of teamwork.

On August 5, 2024, Nisha went from labor to reward and was welcomed into her heavenly home by her doting father, John Louis Cotner, Jr; grandparents, John Louis Cotner, Sr. and Lois “Momma Lois” Sanders, Jesse Debro, Jr. and Beulah Bolden Gray; great grandparents, Ted Keys, Edna Scott, John and Anna Chandler Bolden and other loving family members.

Left to cherish beautiful memories are “her boys,” Jamarl Leon Kirkland, Jermaine Lamar Kirkland and Javonte L. (Michelle) Cotner; grandchildren, Nevaeh, Javien, Jakylin, Javonte Jr., Jaylen and Jecari; loving and devoted mother/bestie, Linda M. Brown; big brother, Charles Edward Bolden Sr. and little brother, John Louis Cotner III; several nieces and nephews; aunts, Jacqueline Mitchell, Sandra Gray, Brenda Sherfield, Dorothy Claiborne, Margaret Bolden, Yolanda (Victor) Rodgers, Paulette (Robert) Newton, LaTonya (Robert) Lattimore, Sarah “Candie” Sanders, Jennifer Rock and Yolanda Snapp; uncles, Jack Sr. and Larry Bolden, Robert (Kathy) Debro, Warren and Endia Puckett, Robert Fisher Sr., Edward (Carolyn) Jones, Hubert Latham, Shelton Sr. (Beverly), Reginald and Scott Cotner, Vincent, Kermit and Thomas Kerry Snapp; great aunts, Johnnie M.
