Joseph Leo Thompson III, age 41, known affectionately to family and friends as Joe, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, in his home in Corbin, KY. Born on March 3, 1984, in Knoxville, TN, to Jacqueline Osbourne and Joseph Leo Thompson Jr.

Joe's formative years in Knoxville were just a warm-up act for the main event—a life lived with humor and heart. He graduated from Austin East Magnet High School in 2002, where he was known as "Joe Blow" for his athleticism, mastering the football field. Joe's love for football went beyond mere spectatorship; he played with a passion that inspired not just his teammates but everyone lucky enough to watch him on the field.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Brittany Thompson, and four sons: Joseph IV (Joseph V), Jaqwon (Pam), Jayzon, and Jameson Thompson. His mother Jacqueline Osbourne, late step-father Gregory Osbourne, father Joseph Leo Thompson Jr., and his siblings Julius Holland, Myra (Gregory) Hackler, Echelle Weaver, Sequnia Hil, and Richie Rateledge. Joe also leaves behind memories of a large extended family who will miss him deeply.

Preceded in death by his step-father, Gregory Osbourne, his grandmothers, Helen Robinson and Harlene Thompson, and his cousin, William Paul Watson.
