Elder Joyce LaGail Whitaker, a radiant soul known for her loving nature and creative spirit, departed this life at home on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and generosity. Born on March 9, 1956, Elder Whitaker's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the beauty of a life well-lived.

Elder Whitaker was the epitome of a devoted daughter, whose beautiful spirit shone brightly in every aspect of her life. Her innate ability to love and give selflessly was evident to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She possessed a unique charm that drew people to her, and she touched countless hearts with her gentle manner and compassionate ways. Her favorite recreation was going to the Dollar Tree and Walmart because she loved decorating anything that could be decorated. If it could be spray painted it would be. Joyce will be remembered for how she loved hosting her family for holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Elder Whitaker was A graduate of Austin East High School, Class of 1974. Her educational background, combined with her innate servant heart and love for Jesus, made her an exceptional advocate for health and well-being of others. She was a proud employee of N.H.C. for over 38 years where she gave her time and talent as a Licensed Physical Therapist. She previously attended the House of God Churches, where she was licensed as an Ordained Minister, and also Pastored for many years until the Lord called her to birth out “Rapture Ready Ministries” where she served, and nurtured, prayed, and poured into the souls of Gods people for many years. She is reunited in heaven with her father, Norman McKissick and her mother, Johnnie Blake; brother, Maurice Dragg; grandfather, Will Blake; grandmother, Rev. Maggie Williams; aunts, Reolla Davis, and Helen Blake; uncle, Willie Blake.

She leave behind her loving family who will cherish her memory, daughters, Crystal Blake, Carmelita Whitaker; one son, Brandon Whitaker; grand-children, Jacaleb and Jayla Whitaker, Kalani Wells, Zuriel, Zion, Ezra, Eden, Elijah Whitaker; brother, Steven McKissick; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren, special aunt, Julia Nesbitt; special sister-in-law, Myra Dragg; special friends, Elder Paulette Pace, Evangelist Terry Tucker, Loraine Smith, Diane Fryer and a host of family and friends to numerous to mention.
