Julius Ivy Smith was born January 15, 1940 to Mr. WR Smith and Ms. Lora Bell Young in Bradley County. He was an only child with big ambitions! He professed Christ at early age and carried the word with him daily  throughout his life. Julius completed high school and began work at an early age. He retired from Bowater as a crane operator after more than 40 yrs of service. He and Elizabeth Smith raised 4 boys and a daughter. Julius Smith & Christina Smith (Rubin Eason) who proceed their father in death.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his children : Eugene Smith (Nikki), Terrence Smith, Timothy Smith, and Rhenda Williams. Also he has 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
