Kanye Maurice Harris

June 7, 2004 ~ August 5, 2023 (age 19) 19 Years Old

Obituary

Kanye Maurice Harris, commonly known as “Ye, Yeezy, Mr. Baby” and 150 Ye” was born June 07, 2004, to the union of Maurice and Shelia Harris of Knoxville, Tennessee.  Kanye was granted his wings on August 5, 2023.  Proceed in his death by his Grandparents Fred D., Sr. and Sallie I. Carter, Grandmother Juanita Groce, and Aunt LaToshia Groce.

At a young age, Kanye turned to Christ and was baptized at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. He rededicated his life on July 30, 2023 at Overcoming Believers Church.  The Christian Academy of Knoxville served as his high school.  Kanye continued his education at the University of Memphis (U of M) and was currently employed with Surface Igniter, LLC until his untimely death.

Although he adored football, Kanye was more passionate about track and field.  It was when he was on the track or football field, that his beacon of light shined.  Kanye was known for his million-dollar smile that warmed everyone’s heart.  His charisma inspired many, and the impact of his words will live on in our memories.  Kanye was an amazing young man of God who understood where his talent, strength, and ability stemmed from.  His running career began at the age of 6, a brilliant athlete whose talent allowed him to tour various venues in the US bringing home medals and trophies to exhibit.

Kanye had a love of Culinary Arts which he was excited to return to this fall.  Kanye had already prepared his visionary board, which contained a business plan for his dream of being a personal chef.

In his final days here on earth Kanye was spreading and planting seeds of spirituality, speaking on the gospel of “Timing” to all who were in his presence.  Kanye never met a stranger and continued to feed the less fortunate.  Kanye believed, “What if that person was God? and I did nothing; what kind of man and servant would I be?”  His smile allowed even the weariest of hearts to smile.

Kanye leaves to cherish his memory father and mother, Maurice and Shelia Harris, sisters; Monique Houston, Jasmine Harris, and his sister, twin, and confidant Anitrea (YaYa) Harris.

Aunt and Uncles; Fredia (James III) Craig, Janice (Carl) Ellis, Fred Jr. (Pamela) Carter, Brenda Harris, Doris (Jeff) Yancey, Florence (Jimmy) Brown, Frankie (Rudolph) Davis, Rebecca Simpson, Angelia Harris;  grandfather; Frank Harris

A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and devoted friends too many to name.  Honorable mentions:  Azalee” Nanny” Hall, James (Jimmy) Battle.

It took a village to raise Kanye and if you look around the room you will see the love that was poured into him overflowing to us.  We are blessed beyond measure.

“There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they have gone the light remains. “Anonymous

Please read the following scriptures St. Matthew 13:24-30, and Ecclesiastes 3:1, Kanye listened to a sermon from Bishop TD Jakes “Timing Is Everything”.
