Obituary

Katherine was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. She attended Eastport and Vine Jr. Even though she didn’t graduate high school, she truly valued education. Cookie was and is loved by everyone she met. If you knew Katherine well, you knew her as "Cookie". You knew she was a pistol, she loved hard, a God-fearing woman, enjoyed her trips to Walmart, and LOVED a good ol’ cherry milkshake from Cookout! She texted her family daily showing her love and affection; with a scripture or gospel song. She loved her gospel music and playing Candy Crush. She was a caretaker at Brakebill Nursing Home, now named Westmoreland where she loved the people she worked around and with. She gained true friendships while working there.

She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Cepheus Bond and mother Queen Esther Bond, sisters Hester Bond, Barbara Ann Bond-Smith, niece Anglynn Bond, brother Aaron Mitchell Bond, grandson William (Dad) Jones, and brother-in-law James Layne.
Katherine leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Andrea Mitchell and Deona Bond, grand children KaNesha Bond-Smith, Nichelle Saffell, and Dominique Mitchell, sister Floraine Layne and brother Henry Bond. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
