LC Smith, age 71, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on March 9, 2026, in East Ridge, Tennessee.
He was born on April 1, 1954, in Courtland, Alabama, to Mattie Mosley Fuqua and the late Charles Smith.
LC Smith was a graduate of Fisk University, Class of 1977, where he played football and formed lifelong friendships.
He spent many years working with the City of Decatur, Alabama in Youth Services, dedicating his time to supporting and guiding young people in the community.
He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Smith; his mother, Mattie Mosley Fuqua; and his siblings Carl Smith, Vinnie Smith-Roberts, Ernestine Smith-Lovelace (James), and Anita Lockhart.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Smith, and his sister, Susie Smith-Robinson.
He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
LC Smith will be remembered by those who knew and loved him, and his memory will live on through the many lives he touched.
