LaDouglas M. Cole (Snapp) came into our physical presence on February 16, 1954, through her parents Mr. Leither Cole Jr. and Jeanette Smith Cole. She was the third child in the family. Affectionately known to her loved ones as "Duckie," she passed away peacefully on December 21, 2023, at the age of 69. Born on February 16, 1954, in Knoxville, TN, she was a beacon of joy and resilience in the community that raised her.
LaDouglas attended the Knoxville Public School System graduating from Austin East in 1972. She gave to the world two sons LeChon and Darrell. She united with the Canaan Baptist Church of Christ, Inc on August 25, 1991, and became an active member, serving as part of the Missionary, the Sunday School, and the choir. The prayer partner assigned to her was Cheryl Bonner with whom she became extremely close. Sherry Sewell who was her assigned deacon also became an extremely close friend as well. LaDouglas's life also included her time as an employee at Watson's Department Store, where she worked in data entry. Additionally, she was employed by Krispy Kreme as a customer service representative. She also worked in the Knoxville Public School System as a cafeteria worker.
Her infectious laughter and boundless energy were hallmarks that made her a memorable classmate and a cherished friend to many. Throughout her life, Duckie was a source of strength and inspiration to her family. Duckie made everyone she encountered feel valued and loved, and her memory will continue to be a source of comfort and encouragement to all who knew her. She is survived by her loving sisters, Treneda (Cole) Plummer and Sandra (Cole) Wagoner, who remember her and were steadfast confidants.
On August 8, 1998, she was joined in holy matrimony to Gary William Snapp who preceded her in death. In addition to Gary, she was also preceded in death by her parents Jeanette Smith Cole McKinney and Leither Cole Jr., her brother Herman M. Geter, her stepfather Buford McKinney Sr., stepsisters Sheila McKinney, Terrie McKinney Littlejohn, and Regina McKinney Woods.
She will be remembered in love by her sons LeChon and Darrell Cole; grand-children LeChon II, Chaila, Silas, and Jasmine, and great grandson Cemaj; sisters Treneda Cole Plummer, Sandra Cole Wagoner, Lisa and Sandra Kaye Cole; brothers Leither and Carl Cole, and Buford McKinney Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, the Canaan Family and Betty Middlebrook (whom she referred to as mom).
