Larry Darnell Quinn, Jr. Obituary

Larry entered this world on June 20th 1973 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis Missouri to Annette Williams and Larry Quinn Sr. Larry was preceded in death by his mothers Annette Williams, Debra Merritt; sister, Andrea Finley. Larry graduated from Southwest High School and attended Meramec College in St. Louis Missouri.

Larry was an avid sports fan, he loved to trash talk to anyone that listened, especially if on opposing teams. He loved the St. Louis Cardinal baseball and his favorite color is red so it was a perfect combination. He was a die hard 49ers fan yelling at the television most of the time trying to correct their behavior lol. But Larry's passion and gifting was basketball, he was an amazing basketball player they called him the "The Mighty Quinn '' in high school, receiving multiple scholarship offers at a collegiate level but chose to stay close to be father to his first born son Tre'von Quinn. Fun fact he loved basketball so much that he named three of his sons after his favorite basketball legends Elijah, Jordan & Akeem. We joked about what if you had a girl, what would you name her. He named her Lauryn. She is a beautiful young woman who just graduated from high school on May 18th. He couldn't stop talking about how proud he was. He will be there in spirit with you Lauryn on your special day! Larry loved and had a passion for music, he was often the DJ for our family events. He loved R&B, rap & gospel, especially old school. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that he was the DVD man lol! He sold mixed tapes and DVDs at The GAS House, one of his favorite spots. He said Von this is a lucrative business, I just shook my head and said okay bruh lol!

Larry married Latoria Tims on October 15, 2007, their union produced two children Lauyrn and Akeem. Larry has three sons from prior relationships Tre'Von (mother Trina Taylor) Elijah and Jordan (mother Natalie Savage), he also has three stepdaughters nicknames Porshe, Regi & Kiki. He was a doting father, proud of all their accomplishments big or small. I know that he will be cheering for them in spirit as they navigate through life.

Larry grew up in a christian household where we were all taught the importance of having a personal relationship with God at an early age and what seemed like a million lessons on love, kindness and forgiveness. If you lived on Gibson you were getting on that church bus on sunday or you wasn't going anywhere and you better not ask period lol! It just wasn't optional for us, teaching us about the Lord was very important in our household. We were definitely a family of second and third chances, even when it didn't seem like the  right option, our grandmother was right there saying, forgive them because He forgives you and for your own healing. We didn't understand that then but later in life he/we truly understood the value in forgiveness. Even Though, he didn't have a church home he maintained his personal relationship with God. One of his favorite gospel songs was Well Done by Dietrick Haddon.

Larry moved his family to Knoxville, Tennessee in December of 2016 to be closer to his siblings Vonetta Merritt, Andrew Finley and Andrea Finley who preceded in death a few years ago. Larry has two other siblings Garrett and Kendra Quinn who reside in Missouri. Larry worked at Republic Plastic as a forklift driver, he absolutely loved his job! He talked about how he got recognition and a bonus for perfect attendance amongst other funny stories. He would often hang out with his friend Kevin, watching the game,  just relaxing while having a beer or buying lottery tickets at the gas station lol Fun fact:

Larry is survived by his wife Latoria "Tori"; father, Larry Quinn (Barbara); children, Tre'von, Elijah, Jordan, Lauryn, Akeem, LaPorshe, Heman'da and Kaieshiah; siblings Andrew, Garrett, Vonetta and Kendra; grandmother, Lillie Quinn and 8 grandkids and a host of family and friends
