Leander Hill Obituary

Leander Tobin Hill was born April 1, 1942, to the union of the late Mimnaugh and Martha Wills Hill. He entered eternal rest on July 29, 2021, at his home.

Tobin was a graduate of Austin High School, Class of 1961. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War from 1962 to 1964. After which, he returned home and married Marsha Hendley. Tobin lived in Detroit for several years collecting a large number of pictures with celebrity singers.

Tobin was a professional painter by trade. His hobbies included flee market trading, horse racing and enhancing his knowledge of history whenever he could. Always a stylish debonair man, he was known for his sharp painter’s attire and famous white scarf. Tobin loved his family and friends alike; he was always just a phone call away when needed.

He leaves to mourn his passing: sons, Mimnaugh (Latonya) Hill of South Bound Brook, NJ,  Maurice and Eric Maxwell, both of Willingboro, NJ; daughters, Tammy McBath (Edward "Bo" Drake) of Knoxville, TN, La Shawn (Guy) Jackson of Effort, PA, Trina Hill of Plainfield, NJ, Tiffaney Jackson of Kannapolis, NC and Sheila Sharp of Knoxville, TN; many grandchildren; devoted niece, Rhonda "Mousie" Gallman of Knoxville, TN; several nieces and nephews; devoted friends, Renae Brooks of Knoxville, TN, Wayne Billingsley of Knoxville, TN, Peter S. Pearson, Victor Diaz, and Bobby Toson, all of New Jersey.
