Leon Lee Forbes, born on January 8th, 1956, was a beacon of light and love to all who knew him. He peacefully passed away on July 31st, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and faith. Leon's life was a testament to the belief that one's actions speak louder than words. His gentle demeanor and compassionate heart were his signature, touching the lives of many with his unspoken love.
Leon cherished his family above all, finding joy in the company of his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren. A devoted husband to Sandra Forbes, His role as a father to Leon Forbes Jr., Marland Forbes, Alycea Williams, Leonard Williams and Lenise Littlejohn (Dion) was filled with unwavering love and guidance. The bond he shared with his grandchildren Corey Watson, Dion Littlejohn III, D'arius Littlejohn, Amir Williams, Malik Williams, Leah Forbes, and India Forbes was precious and filled with memorable moments, father-in-law, Clifford Tate (Mattie) and a host of brothers and sisters of the Tate family; extended family, Syvilla Littlejohn, Lisa Johnson and family, great-grandson, Kayson Watson, was a delightful addition to his treasure trove of family memories.
Leon's passion for Westerns was well-known, as he could often be found engrossed in the tales of cowboys and the old frontier. This love extended to his hobbies, where he expressed his creativity through woodcrafts on canvas and art. His original pieces were not just displays of his talent but were also imbued with the essence of his spirit.
Leon was predeceased by his parents, Jesse and Margaret Forbes, his brothers Ernest Forbes, Glen Forbes, and Albert Burdine, his sister Jean Aldridge, and grandchild Zykeise Littlejohn. His legacy is carried forward by his brothers Walter Buckley and Frank ( Libby) Forbes, and his sisters Marie Chapel, Ada, Mamie, and Bobbie Jean Forbes. His extended family includes special friends from the Thomas, Mobley, Sensobough, Gaines, Yancey, and Johnson families, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
