Leroy Penson Jr. known affectionately as “Mr. P” was born on July 19, 1937 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Leroy Penson Sr. and Beatrice Keith. He transitioned from his early home to reside in his eternal estate on December 10, 2025. Leroy received Christ at an early age and attended Payne Ave Baptist Church, and later on during the years he joined Mother Love Baptist church where he was a trustee . Leroy loved serving God through setting up breakfast for Sunday school and would help out wherever he was needed. He loved his Pastor Lorin Harris and Mrs. Harris . 

Leroy Penson Jr was a loving, devoted family man. Family meant everything to him and he worked very hard to provide for them. Leroy graduated from Austin High School in 1955 and he worked hard to become a self made man . He started his cleaning business in the early 1960’s in Los Angeles, California. He moved back to Knoxville Tn in 1985 and that's when he started the business National Cleaning System. National Cleaning System was a janitorial cleaning service that he operated from his home and he took great pride in providing excellent service to all his clients and won many accolades. Leroy worked for many contractors such as the University of Tennessee, and J.A. Fielden . He worked over at Neyland Stadium from 1989-2017 when his health began to decline. Leroy believed in giving everybody a second chance in life and he gave a job to anyone that wanted to work. Many of his employees came from the mission where he would give them a ride to and from work and also feed them .

 Leroy would even open his home at times to provide a place for those who didn't have one and wanted to better themselves. Leroy and his devoted wife were passionate about helping those who wanted to succeed and often would provide rides to and from church , and would help those who were incarcerated rebuild their life. He was very driven in life to be dedicated to his work and family. 

Leroy is proceeded in death by his parents Leroy Sr. and Beatrice Penson, his son Eric Penson, grandsons Richard Hewlett Jr. , Leroy Penson the fourth, Jefferey Penson Jr, and brother in law Jimmy Rowans .

 Leroy is survived by his faithful and devoted wife of 24 years Wendy Penson ,children Sharon, Leroy III and wife (Betty) , Jeffery , Darryl , Mark ;daughter- in- law Katherine, Avius ( Sequoyah) Hodges, Randy Dupree, She’mia Dupree, Kyra and Jakari Penson. Sister Charlene( Jesse) Blue, Shirley Rowans, ;  grandchildren, Lekesha, Sparkle, Lakeiia, Dameion, Juan, Gabby, Mia, Latoya, Darryl Jr. ,Eric Jr,Celica , Kasasha, Keonte, Candice, Demarcus ;mother-in-law, Helen Hodges and a host of great grands, nieces and nephews,brother and sister in-laws, family, and friends.
