Leroy Upshaw, known to family and friends as “Buddy”was born May 13, 1942 to the late James Sr. and Nellie Upshaw. He passed away Friday, December 5, 2025 at his residence.

Leroy graduated from Austin High School c/o 1960 at which time he enlisted into the Air Force, where he served time in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged. He retired from the USPS after 32 years of service.

Preceded by parents James Sr. and Nellie Upshaw; brothers, James Jr., John and Paul Upshaw; sister, Mary Blair.

Survived by loving daughter and cargiver, LaRoyce Upshaw; son-in-law, Johnny Ward; grandchildren, Coneisha Bowers, J’ohn and DeJohn Merchant, Trinity and RonDarius Upshaw and Demassi  Wilson; great-grandchildren, Ru’Nyla, Ci’Miya, Arabelle, Italy and Ivy; brother, Willie (Carrie) Upshaw; sister, Frances Mize; bonus grand-son, Chy”Shun Harris and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
