Leslie Renee Henegar -Stephens Obituary

Celebrating the Life and Home going of Leslie Stephens

Leslie, a bright beautiful soul inside and out, was born September 14, 1968, in Athens TN, to the late Billy and Mary Henegar.  Leslie lived a life full of love and devotion for her family and friends.  She had a welcoming spirit, loved everyone she met, and never met a stranger.  Leslie enjoyed cooking, playing spades, and could outfish anyone (SHE THOUGHT).  On Sunday, January 18, 2026, Leslie departed this life to receive her eternal reward.   To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Leslie was preceded in death by her parents Billy and Mary Henegar; maternal grandparents Maude and George Clark; paternal grandparents Helen and Clint Henegar; niece Ashley Clark; uncles Clyde Clark, Roger Clark, Raymond Clark, Stevie Clark; aunts Betty Barber and Shelly(Johnnie) Harrison; two very special cousins Denise Clark and Franky Latham; and her best friends Maureen Cash and Anjie Blair.

Leslie is survived by her lifetime partner Marvelle Locke of Georgetown,TN; stepson Trey Locke of Athens, TN; stepdaughter Kenisha Smith of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren Kashlyn, Jackson, and Kayden all of Cleveland, TN; her two brothers Barry (Angela) Henegar Athens, TN, and Anthony Henegar, of Rome, GA; four sisters Donna Clark, Yagonda Clark, April(Rick) and Sherry Jackson all of Cleveland, TN; aunts Debra (Jason) Fisher of Etowah, TN, Brenda (Clyde) Benton of Louisville, KY, Olivia Dyer and Carol Looney of Cleveland, TN, Veronica Clark of Niota, TN; a very special aunt Alice Maye Scruggs of Sweetwater, TN; nephews Victor Clark, Justin Crumb, Nicholas Baker, Malik(Sydney) Henegar, Gregory Henegar, all of Cleveland, TN, Tyler Smith of Milville, NJ;  a very special nephew Jayiin Thomas of Athens, TN;  nieces Ke-Airra(Jacob) Warren of Rome, GA, and Jasmine Henegar of Cleveland, TN; special cousins Quanda Harrison, Bobbie Moore of Cleveland, TN, and Mable Brummett of Indianapolis, IN, and Felix Latham, of Knoxville, TN; special friends Slyvia Woods, Rebecca (Birdie) Mooneyham, Bennett Ramsey, Kathy Goode, and Paul Davis.  Although she didn’t have kids of her own, she enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.  As they got older and had children, she shared that same love with her great nieces and nephews.  It was such a pleasure and we are forever grateful to Chris and Benita Woods for allowing Leslie to be the godmother to their son Christiian Woods.  She loved and adored him so much.  She will truly be missed.
