Lois Keith, age 93, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on July 1, 2026.
Born on October 21, 1932, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Lois was the beloved child of Edward
and Maggie Kemp. She graduated from Austin High School in 1960 and worked at Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) as an Administrative Officer for 20 years. She also worked as Senior Office Manager/Consultant at WKGN, after retiring from TVA. During her time at WKGN she became known as “Lois Granny Keith” to all who worked with and loved her dearly. Most noticeable was Robert Stewart, Station Manager at WKGN. Their work relationship grew quickly into a “mother figure/son” relationship.
Lois was known for her exceptional organizational skills and her love of bringing people together. She took great joy in planning trips for her L&L Social Club, which was a yearly trip to Daytona Beach, planned with her niece Lois. She also enjoyed hosting gatherings in her home and creating meaningful moments for family and friends. Whether organizing events or simply opening her home to loved ones, Lois cherished fellowship, laughter, and the time spent with those she held dear.
Lois is survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Maggie Kemp; and beloved son, James Edward Webb, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Kemp Bryant, Elizabeth Kemp Jackson, Emma Kemp Hunter, Geneva Kemp Ware, Jacquelyn Kemp Barton, and Nancy Kemp Cannon; Brothers, Joseph Kemp, Edward Kemp, Jr., Roy Kemp, Arthur Kemp, and Melvin Kemp.
Throughout her later years, Lois was lovingly cared for by her devoted niece, Lois Cannon Brown (her namesake), who selflessly attended to her every need with unwavering compassion and dedication. With the steadfast support of her husband, Michael Brown, they provided comfort, dignity, and endless love, ensuring she was cared for until the very end.
