Marcia Battle Obituary

Marcia entered this world on April 9, 1943, to the union of Fredrick and Louise Lowery.  Her early education included Sam E. Hill, Beardsley Jr. High, and Austin High School.  She also attended New Careers where she studied Geriatric Nursing.

She had a love for sports and fishing.  When she was younger, she played softball and basketball.  She was a well-known seamstress and cook.  She also instructed sewing classes at CAC.

She accepted Jesus Christ at a young age at First Calvary Baptist Church.  She served as usher and president of the gospel chorus for many years until her health began to decline.

Marcia Ann Lowery Battle was preceded in death by husband, Hollis Battle, Sr.; parents, Fredrick Lowery and Louise Lowery Kelly; siblings, Joyce Williams, Ruth McCallie, Doris Dixson and Marvin Lowery, Sr.; granddaughter, Rekia Kinnebrew and great granddaughter, DaZariah Smith.

She leaves to cherish memories with her daughters, Cheri Turner of Lawrenceville, GA, LaTonya (Allen) Henry, Michelle (Thurman) Kinnebrew and Dawn Dixson, all of Knoxville, TN; sister, Nell (Terry) Giles; grandchildren, KaToya, Nikki, SaMesha, LaTesha, Darius, Keimon, Marquis and Dontay; great grandchildren, Jabbar, DaMecia, Jamel, Reonna, Tre, Dakota, DJ, Red, Dre, Tink, Ladybug and Maeson; God grandchildren, Kiera, Erica, Stink, Major and Italy; a host of nieces and nephews too numerous to name yet greatly loved.
