Martha Ann Elizabeth Smith, 66, was born on January 23, 1956, in Jeffersonville, Georgia, to Horace Sanford, Sr and the late Annie Ruth Bonner. Martha was a graduate of Austin East High School, Class of 1974. Seventeen years ago, on June 3, Martha married her soulmate, Louis Marshall Smith. For over 10 years, Martha was a faithful member of Children of God Ministries, where she was in many ministries, including the Usher Board. Five years ago, she joined her husband at St. Joseph House of Prayer and served faithfully as an adjunct to her husband, Minister Louis Smith, part of the Honor Guard Ministry, Pastoral Care, and the Usher Board. She was a current employee of Flex-N-Gate for nine years where many of her co-workers she considered close friends.
Martha is preceded in death by her mother, Annie Ruth Berry, Howard Sanford (brother), Kimberly Watkins and Barbara Lynn King (sisters), and Anthony Sanford III (grandson).

Martha was sweetly saved and took great pride in her relationship with the Lord. She desires that we all make it, and she witnessed to everyone who crossed her path in words and deeds. Those who knew her would agree that she fought the good fight and finished the race and heard God say, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” Also, she never said goodbye, always saying “See ya,” and we believe that we WILL see her again.
