Martha Lillian Thompson (affectionately referred to as “DARLIN”) was born on September 27, 1928 to the late Mattie Sue Peters and Cleo Whaley, departed this life on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
She was a devoted member of St. James Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America and served faithfully under Reverend Mitchell M. Walker, Sr as Church Benevolent Treasurer, Usher and Kitchen Committee Member.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie Sue Peters and Cleo Whaley; husband, Ernest Thompson, Jr ; Brothers, Billy Person, Lester Person, and Robert Person; Sister, Olivia; Niece, Sheryl Gash.
Darlin leaves her devoted family members to celebrate her life and home going; A loving and devoted daughter, Reverend Rhonda Sue Westfield, a devoted son-in-law, Kenneth Westfield; grandson, Kenyatta Westfield (Becky Oliver); granddaughters, Martha Lillian Kalombo (Mike Kalombo) of Kennesaw, GA; Shawnda Burgess (Mike Burgess) of Chattanooga, TN; Great Grandchildren - Danarius Smith (Amber Smith) of Tulsa Oklahoma, Keenan Westfield, Gabrielle Kalombo, Madison WestfieldSmith; sister-in-law; Betty Person and Georgia Person; Dearest friends, Edna Ruth White and Ann Pugh.
