Mary F Carter Obituary

Mary Frances Carter went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2024   surrounded by loved ones. She was 84. Born January 25, 1940 to Albert and Margaret Johnson. She grew up in Wallace Chapel A.M.E Zion church and was currently a devoted member of Greater Warner Tabernacle A.M.E Zion Church. 

Mary graduated from Austin High School in 1958 and later became a cosmetologist and worked at  Hair Fashions East for an extended period of time. She was also employed by TVA.

Mary enjoyed travelling, shopping and spending time with her family. She also loved doing her devotion and spending time with the Lord.  Mary was a social butterfly and never met a stranger. 

She is preceeded in death by Daughter, Valencia T. Carter; husband, Jesse J. Carter; Father, Albert B. Johnson; Mother, Margaret F. Johnson; Sister, Mahalia F. Keith(Walter) ; Brothers, James T. Johnson, Charles W. Johnson, and Ernest E. Johnson. 

She is survived by long time devoted loving partner, Julius Jones; Daughters, Terri Johnson of Georgia and Valerie (Kelvin) Dale of Knoxville; Granddaughter, Norasha (Thomas) Miles of Georgia; Grandson, Donte Sawyer of Georgia; Granddaughter, Monesha (Jamaur) Templin of Knoxville; Grandson, Nicholas Dale of Florida; Great Grandchildren; Saniya, Brighlan, Kendyse Crawford all of Georgia,  Arissa and Jamaal Carter of Knoxville, and Jersi Sawyer of Georgia, Several nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, friends and family. Caregiver and devoted friend Lula Rogers.
