Mother Mary Frances Randle was born October 31, 1940 In Florence, Alabama to the union of the late James Butler and Elsie Taylor Butler. Surrounded by her loved ones, she was granted eternal rest on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
She was educated in the Florence School System and is a graduate of Burrell Slaughter High School. As a nursing student, she received her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree at Muscle Shoals Technical College and her Registered Nursing Degree at Roane State Community College. Always wanting to stay abreast of her gift, she took additional classes at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
Mother Randle served the citizens of Oak Ridge as a registered nurse at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, Oak Ridge Children’s Clinic, and as an oncology nurse. She served as a school nurse with the Oak Ridge School System (Robertsville Middle School), after which she retired.
She confessed Jesus Christ as her personal Savior while a member of the Cumberland Methodist Church in Florence, Alabama. After relocating to Oak Ridge, she united with the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Elder D. J. Ward. While a member of Mt. Zion, she was a constant presence at Sunday School, Sunday Morning and Evening Worship Services, and Prayer Meeting and Bible Study. In 2011, she became a member of Overcoming Believers Church under the pastorate of Senior Pastor Darryl Arnold. The honor of church mother was bestowed upon her at Mt. Zion and Overcoming Believers Church.
Mother Randle was united in holy matrimony to Robert (Moochie) Randle on December 30, 1967 and together they raised their three children, Sabrina, Albert, and LaDonna.
In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her daughters, Chantre Underwood and Sabrina Underwood Jaycox; brothers, James (Sonny) Butler, Charles (Bobby) Butler, and Clarence (Billy) Butler; sisters-in-law, Edna Louise Downey and Loretta Goodloe, and brother-in-law, Arthur Thomas Randle.
Mother Randle leaves to mourn her passing, her devoted husband, Robert; sister, Betty Jean Mitchell; son, Albert and daughter, LaDonna; four grandchildren, Brianna Meredith, Preston Underwood, Brendon Loyd, and Valerie Underwood; sister-in-law, Zethelyn Johnson and Nepsie Arnold and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special God-gifted children, Alfreeda (Joseph) Rupert and Greg (Doretta) Broughton, special friends, Mothers of her church, and a host of other family members and friends.
