Mattie Ann Swafford age 64, a resident of Cleveland, Tn., went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday morning March 4, 2018 at a local hospital.
She was born May 16, 1952 to Charles and Cornelia “Lindie” Swafford II both whom preceded her in death along with her sisters Odessa Rouser and her brother Lebron Swafford.
Mattie graduated from Cleveland High School Class of 1970 and attended Morehouse College where she received a certificate in Modeling and retired from Whirlpool after 35 years of service.
She was an active member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a young age.
Mattie enjoyed serving on the usher board, singing in the choir, and she loved being the Primary Sunday School Teacher. A faithful member of the church, she was known for volunteering wherever she was needed.
Mattie would quote Ecclesiastes 9:10, “whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might” and she would say enthusiastically - “so I’m doing it!"
Mattie was a beloved person who dedicated herself unselfishly to the needs of family and acquaintances. She was a loving mother to her sons and their spouses, the daughters she never had. “Momma Mae” enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves cherish her memories, her sons, Tony (Michele) Blair Jr., Adafo (Holly) Blair Sr., and Reginald Parker, Sr. all of Cleveland, Tn.:

Body may be viewed Wednesday, March 7 from 9:00a.m. until 7:00p.m. family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. at the Patton Funeral Home Chapel, 265 Fair Street S.E. Cleveland, Tn.
Service will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 799 Inman Street S.E. on Thursday, March 8 at 12:00 Noon, family will receive friends from 11:00a.m until service time. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Patton Funeral Home is honored to serve the Swafford Family.
