Melvin Lee Porter, Sr Obituary

Melvin Lee Porter Sr. left this world to meet our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 10, 2025. 

He was a Navy Veteran. He drove for Exxon for many years and then worked for the Knox County School System. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. 

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Annie Zuber; Father, Jack Porter; Wife, Barbara Jean Porter; and Son, Melvin Lee Porter Jr.

He is survived by daughters, Stephanie (Victor) King, and Angela (Shane) Brooks; son, Courtney Brown; Daughter-in-Law, Teresa Porter Kemp (James); sisters, Harriet and Sandra, Brother, Tommy, of Washington State; brother-in-Law,Charles Pete Drew, and a host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and other family to include the Bailey, Porter, Coates, and Zuber families. 

We want to thank Smokey Mountain Hospice and Sacred Ground Hospice House for their care and support during this difficult time.
