Michael Eugene Queener, affectionately known as "Michael Shane," passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on September 22, 1954, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Michael grew up to be a man of great character and warmth, touching the lives of many with his humor and generosity.
Michael's education at Beardsley Jr. High and Rule High School laid the foundation for his strong work ethic, which was evident in his 25 years of dedicated service at Mays Enterprise.
Preceded in death by his loving parents, Howard and Margaret Muckle Queener and brother, Larry Queener.
Michael's legacy of love and laughter lives on through his cherished family. He was a devoted father to his children, Broderick Queener, Ericka Queener, and Latoya Tate. His brothers, Barry (Faye) Queener and Norman Queener, Sr., will fondly remember their times together, as will his nieces Rhonda (Fredrick) Rhodes, Lashawn Cook, Tyra Osbourne, Normitha "Poona" Queener Salaam, Normisha Queener and nephews Norman (Samantha) Queener Jr. and Ronnie Braden (Max). Michael's joy was multiplied by his adored grandchildren, Jordan Queener, Tanner Queener, Keylon Parks, Chandler Queener, and Devin Taylor Jr., and he was blessed to see the growth of his 13 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous great–great nieces and nephews. His life was further enriched by the company of his devoted friends Steve, Sharon, Sweeney, Charmika, Beatrice, Cathy Queener and Carolyn Chesney, and the unwavering companionship of his special friend, Nancy.
