MIKISHA DESHELL SMITH

 

On Monday, February 20th, 2023 the royal carpet was laid out and the trumpets began to sound.  The angels began to rejoice for another soldier was on her way home.

 

The early morning train had made its Stop at the home of Mikisha Deshell Smith  in Oak Ridge, TN.  All Aboard Servants of God, All Aboard thou Weary Soldier, All Aboard God’s Chosen Vessel, this is the Glory Bound Express, to Heaven.  Only ticketed Passengers can aboard.  With her ticket in hand, her eyes fix on Glory, Her mind steadfast on Jesus.  She boarded the train singing “Good Bye Ole World I am going on the other side.”

 

Mikisha Deshell Smith was born on January 22nd, 1988 to Amanda Stewart and Michael Smith at Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  

 

Mikisha was a 2006 graduate of Oak Ridge High School.  She was a member of Oak Valley Baptist Church.  She was employed with Dial America, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Hand & Hand, Clinton, Tennessee.  Her hobbies were experimenting with new recipes, spending quality time with her grandmother, family, and the Gang-Gang,  Working out at the gym with her aunt Denise, experimenting with new recipes, spoiling her niece and nephews, braiding her nephew hair (making sure he was always looking good and fresh), making baskets and other gifts for her nephews and cousins, and supporting all her cousins at their sporting events, she was an avid sports fan.

 

Preceded in death by grandparents Dennis Shephard and Brenda Smith; Great-Grandparents, Dock and Ocie Stewart, C. D. and Augusta Booker, Devia Tory, and Katie Shephard; and one uncle, Darren Smith.

 

She leaves to cherish her memories:  her devoted mother, Amanda Stewart, father, Michael (Linda) Smith;  Grandparents: Betty Stewart, Hubert C. (Shelia) Booker, Sr.,  and one brother Conseco Stewart, Jr. (Salyna).

 

One special niece:  LaShanti Stewart, three special nephews: Conseco Stewart, Jr., King Stewart, and Darius Stewart; devoted cousins: Keke Stewart (LaRon), Seth Davis (Kaylie), TeMaurice Higgins, Pryce Davis, ZeYana Stewart, LaRez Dendy, Nyaomi Davis, Javon Shephard, Cole Shephard, Storm Shephard, and Josh Shephard.

 

Aunts & Uncles:  Denise (Sedrick) Davis, Camillia Stewart, Jermaine Shephard, Dontrell Whitt, Charles Smith, Hubert Booker, Jr., and Marquis Booker.

 

Great Aunts & Uncles:  Lois (John) Burum, Gwen (Thomas) Moton, Odessa Anderson, Douglas  Stewart, Sr.,  James Stewart (Verne), William Stewart, Mary Alice Bohanon, Rufus (Georgia) Shephard, Linda Williams, Mary Elizabeth Booker, Geneva Booker, Lynn (Greg) Patterson, Tracy Booker, James Booker and Perry (Angie) Booker; special friends: Jaylin Henderson, 

(“Gang-Gang” - Shakia “KeKe” Stewart (sister/cousin), Janicia “Jiff” Henderson (best-friend), Nicole “Flow” Fletcher, Beverly “Bev” Bell, Salyna Dejesus, Tanisha “MooMoo” Mitchell), John Woods, and a host of other family members and friends, too numerous to name.
