Morzena Knighton, III Obituary

Morzena "Moe" Knighton, III, son of the late Morzena Knighton, Jr. and the late Gail Maxine Knighton, departed this life after prolonged illnesses on June 13, 2025. He was born in Bayonne, NJ and raised in Alcoa, TN, where he was educated in the Alcoa Public School System. In 1987 he enlisted in the United States Army.

In his professional life as a Phlebotomist with 25+ years of experience, he was known for his exceptional work ethic and passion for his patients.

In 1991 his title went from "Little Man" to "Daddy", his prized possession, his best Friend, His A-1 from Day-1, Akeem "aka" Hak was born, which brought him great joy!

He was united in holy Matrimony to Mia E. Garrett on January 12, 2001, and again on June 2, 2023.

In 2019 his title became "Pop-Pop", the ultimate title, he cherished his grandbabies!

In his leisure time he loved to be on or near the water, especially the beach, loved to cook, loved to work outside and work in his garden (always at Lowes and Home Depot). He loved to spark up his grill and his smoker, he was very competitive, loved to shoot pool, he was a huge NY Giants, NY Yankees and NY Knick fan!

"Moe" lived and enjoyed life to the fullest and he touched lives wherever he went. His kind and witty humor will dearly be missed.

Always ready to turn up, yet he loved and cherished his family and friends. Whatever was on his Lung was on his Tongue and he wanted everyone to know that he was "Self-Made" and was proudful of that because he took "Nothing" and turned it into "Something"!

As we bid farewell to Moe, we reflect on a life well-lived, a journey filled with love, laughter, and courage. His departure from this world leaves a void that cannot be filled, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever be a part of our lives.

He leaves to mourn: his wife, Mia Garrett, his son, Akeem Knighton of Alcoa, TN, his Stepson, Tyrone Davis, Jr. of CA, Sisters, Shakayla Cannida of TN, Lori Alston of GA, Brothers, Sharif Abdul-Majid of IN, Clyde Foster of NJ, his grandchildren, Alana and Malani Knighton; a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, especially, Jaheem Davis, Other Relatives and Friends
