Moses Carlton Zeigler, age 46, passed away on July 3, 2025, on the road, in a truck that he loved. Born in Opelousas, Louisiana, Moses brought joy and laughter to every space he entered, embodying the spirit of celebration, family, and resilience.

A proud graduate of Pensacola High School, Moses made his home in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he built a life full of love, dreams, and hard work. A dedicated over-the-road truck driver, he was known for his strong work ethic and unshakable love for the open road. A reflection of his independent spirit and drive to provide for his family.

Moses was the life of the party, always smiling, always encouraging. He had a gift for lifting spirits, offering a listening ear or a hearty laugh just when it was needed most. He was happiest surrounded by family, cooking up something delicious, casting a fishing line, blasting music, or talking good-natured smack, forever dreaming big, and always giving more than he took.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Beverly Zeigler, and his cherished children, Isaiah Shederick, Kameel Zeigler, Isaac Zeigler, Amber Hines, and CJ Hines. Grandson Nathaniel Shederick, is also survived by his loving mother, Margaret Zeigler, and siblings Carlton (Leslie) Zeigler, Angela Henry, Matthew (Bethany) Zeigler, and Margaret (Edward) Stewart. Moses was a proud and loving uncle to Davian, Graciella, Kindred, Keelin, Carlton Jr., Malachi, and Trinity, and he is remembered fondly by a host of cousins, aunts, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carlton B. Zeigler, and his grandparents, uncles, aunts; who helped shape the man he became.

Those who knew Moses will always remember him as an encourager — someone who showed up, helped out, and brought light to others. His warmth, humor, and joy were infectious. His parting words, often accompanied by a big bear hug, were: “You know I love you, can I get a hug.”
