With hearts heavy and forever changed, we announce the passing of our daughter, our sister, and a devoted mother, Nancy Lawson, who left this world on April 14, 2026, at the age of 34. Losing Nancy feels unreal — like the world suddenly got quieter in a way it wasn’t built to be. She was funny, fierce, and a loud spirit who refused to shrink herself for anyone. When Nancy walked into a room, you knew it. When she laughed, you felt it. When she loved you, you never doubted it.

Nancy’s foundation was built early. She joined Tabernacle Baptist Church at the young age of eight, where she was baptized under Reverend M.M. Solomon. Her faith shaped her, guided her, and stayed with her throughout her life. She attended Austin‑East High School, proudly representing the Class of 2010, where her bold personality and unforgettable presence left a mark on classmates and teachers alike.

Nancy loved her family deeply — her mother,  sisters, brothers, uncles, aunts, and cousins. She carried that love in her own way, sometimes loudly, sometimes quietly, but always with sincerity. And above all, her heart truly belonged to her son, Kaharian, whom she affectionately called King. He was her joy, her pride, her purpose, and the one person who could soften her fiercest days with a single smile.

Nancy lived boldly. She spoke her mind, stood her ground, and still had a softness that made people feel safe around her. She could make you laugh in the middle of your worst day, and she could lift you up with a strength that came straight from her soul. Her humor was quick, her presence unforgettable, and her heart bigger than she ever admitted.

Her time here was far too short, but her impact is ever lasting. The echoes of her laughter, her boldness, her love, and her spirit will continue to move through the lives she touched. May her memory be a blessing, and may her fierce, beautiful light continue to guide those who loved her — especially her beloved son King.

Nancy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sylvester and Eloise Brown; her father, Donald Lawson; her uncle, Johnny Brown; her aunt, Nikita Wells; and her daughter, Channisa Lawson. We trust she is reunited with them now, held in their love and peace.

Nancy is survived by her beloved son, Kaharian Campbell; her mother, Patricia Lawson; her brothers, Gerald (Ariel) Wells, Brandon Wells, and Arthur Lawson; her sisters, Chimere Wells, Carla Lawson, Aishia Lawson, and Asia Lawson; her uncle, Eddie Wells; and her aunts, Bernice (Herman) Phillips and Tonja Littles. She also leaves behind her nieces, Genesis Wells, Acasia Lawson‑Rogers, Adaiah Wells, and Alasia Lawson‑Rogers; her nephews, Julius Hezel, Brandon Wells Marengo II, Demetriz Lawson, Gerald Wells II, and Kordell Wells; she is also survived by special cousins India (Eddie) McDowell, Joseph Manning, Julian Manning and LaChia Moore. Nancy is also remembered with love by her special friend, Rudolph Campbell, along with a host of cousins to include the Freeman and Wells Family.
