Pearl Lee Simpson, "Suge," was born November 30, 1949 to John and Coreaner Williams Simpson in Havaco, West Virginia.
Pearl graduated from Austin High School and worked as a Social Worker at The Department of Human Services for many years. She was also very active in the political realm.
She transitioned to her new life on November 27, 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles "Man" Simpson; parents, John and Coreaner Williams Simpson; sister, Susan Cannon and niece, Teresa"Cookie" Ligon.
"Suge" was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She truly embraced the role she played in each person's life. One might say she had a genuine connection to everyone she loved. "Suge" loved hard and everyone felt it. She was full of joy and laughter! One of her gifts was the ability to give sound advice and guidance.
"I love you baby or girlie," was the way she ended every conversation and those words will truly be missed by everyone left behind.
She leaves to cherish her memory: brother, Willie "Boots" Crosby; grandchildren, Demetria, Rihanna and Giovanni Simpson; devoted nephew, Walter Lavon Geter; devoted niece, Wanzelle Ligon; devoted cousin, Buddy Simpson; devoted friend, Priscilla "Sally" Ligon; a host of other family and friends to include the Ligon family, her Morristown Gang: Teresa Pilcher, Monzella Wilson, Jasper Kirkland, Mrs. Terry and Mr. John (neighbors) and Keith.
