Phillip Owens transitioned from this life on July 6th, 2023, in the comfort of his own home. Born on September 25th, 1981, in the beautiful city of Chattanooga, TN, Phillip was the son of the late Novella Owens. He was a proud graduate of Howard High School, class of 1999, where he was renowned for his exceptional skills in football and wrestling, bringing home the state championship.
Phillip was a man of immense talents and diverse interests. He was a true grill master who loved cooking, and even the winter weather couldn’t stop him from mastering his craft. He had a passion for watching movies, especially horror films, which he had to persuade his wife to watch with him. Phillip was also a skilled mathematician and often used his knowledge to conquer video games on the first day of release. He enjoyed dining out, and his preferred spot was Juicy Seafood, where he was a regular and well-recognized by name.
Writing music was Phillip’s true calling, and he pursued this passion with great fervor until his last breath. He had a passion for rap music in his younger days. Most importantly, Phillip was a devoted family man who cherished his children and adored his beloved Libra Love, Toddsha. He was also blessed to experience his first grandchild, Jenesis who God allowed to bring him back from a coma when she was born. He leaves behind an immense void and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his devoted wife of 13 years, Toddsha Owens. His 3 children, Jala Clark (James) Williams, Destinee Owens and Nicholas Owens. His mother Paula Sterling. His mother and father in law Sharon and James Bell. His sisters Melissa Owens, Bianca Rao and Carla James. Brothers, Nicholas Harrison, Timothy (Jessica) McAfee, Lance Thompson, Ryan Clark, Roderick Holloway and Justin (Desirae) Bush. Nephew, Damir Owens. Close cousins, Yohance Owens, Shelly Sterling, Maurice (Shaneka) Mcdowell, and Bobby (Michelle) Hodge. Along with a host of cousins, aunties and uncles.
