Resaun Marquis (Fella) Dyer was born in Knoxville, TN on May 30, 1978, and gained his heavenly wings on February 6, 2026. Resaun first love was the love he had for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Resaun was known by everyone as Messy Fella. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, father and husband. His mere presence lit up every room the moment he entered. He had a winning smile that was contagious.

Resaun had a deep passion for basketball that started as a young child. Him and his big brother, Jimmy “Flashy” would practice the game until the streetlights would come on. This exemplified true commitment. Resaun found great joy in coaching kids the game of basketball. He loved the game so much. His energy was infectious. He was always dancing, laughing and bringing smiles to those around him.

He especially loved to sing “Dear Mama” to his loving mother that filled her spirit and heart with joy.

Resaun had a heart full of love for his family and friends especially his bond with his best friend Willie D.

He had a way of making people feel special. His personality was on point with the jokes and having fun, therefore being the center of attention came easily and he welcomed that.

Resaun spirit will live on through laughter. He was an inspiration and poured love into everyone he met.

His memory reminds us to live life to the fullest, laugh often and cherish our loved ones.

Resaun was preceded in death by grandparents James and Carrie Woodfin. William and Lela Davenport, brother, James (Jimmy) Fugate.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife Latika Dyer, daughters Re’Shauna Dyer and Ka’Shauna Dyer, granddaughter Sanaa E’Dior Hollingsworth; mother and pops Jamesena

and Arthur Smith; father Donnie Davenport, sister Reanne’ (Randolph) Brown, nieces JaMesha, Jawanna, Myesha(Issac); great nephews, Brandyn, Marcus(MJ), and Issac(Baby Issac), and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. Best friend Willie D. and special friends Jeff, John, and James.
