Robert Kyle Brown was born to Leroy and Hazel Brown, Sr., on January 24, 1955, and peacefully entered into rest on June 29, 2026, at Ascension St. Thomas Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He lived a life defined by a quiet strength.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Hazel Brown, Sr., his brother, Donald Brown, Sr., his daughter, Candace and many dear loved ones. Their memories remained a guiding presence throughout his life, and now Robert joins

them in rest.

A proud graduate of Austin-East High School, Class of 1973. Robert played varsity football and basketball, and was well known for his athletic ability and his sense of humor. He joined the United States Navy in the 1970's. For the last part of his life, he resided at Alvin C. York Veteran Hospital, where he was loved and well thought of. Those who knew him remember his kindness and his thoughtful nature.

Robert leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Whiteside, and grandson, Hasani Whiteside; siblings, Gloria (Clarence) Gibson, Leroy Brown, Jr., Peggy Evans, Dennis Brown, Sr., Jeffrey (Kim) Brown, and Felicia (Harold) Washington; sister‑in‑law, Audrey Brown; and uncle, Ernest Brown, Sr., a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

May he rest in peace, and may his memory continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
