Ruby Jean Oliver, 78, of Oak Ridge, Tenn. gained her wings on Tuesday, April 22, 2020 at her home.
Ms. Ruby was born Nov.19, 1941 in Oliver Springs, Tenn. to the late James and Susie Knaff. Born and raised in Oliver Springs, Tenn., she later moved to Oak Ridge, Tenn.
She was a member of Little Leaf Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. She enjoyed collecting elephants (with the trunk up), cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved her grandkids! She would attend Kaseem’s games hollering, “GO Nanny BOOT!”
Preceded in death by her husband, Willie Oliver; sisters, Geneva, Ellen and Lorene; brothers, Kyker, King, Abraham, and James.
Left to cherish her loving memory is her son, Willie (Keesha) Oliver; two daughters, Susanna (Zeke) McCray and Marie (Edward Jackson); brother, Fred Harrison Foster; aunt, Clara, all of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Kaseem (Kaity) Davidson, Zion, Zayvion, Dynasty, Bekweri, DeMarion, Zi’yer, Seemion, Keyleha, Kazmeer, Knoell, Devin, Caleb Tre and Kendall; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
On Tuesday, April 28, 2020, family and friends may view from 10 a.m. to noon at Little Leaf Baptist Church, 228 East Tri-County Boulevard, Oliver Springs, Tenn., where there will be limited capacity and social distancing in place. A private graveside will follow at Carters Bluff Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas Dews officiating. During this time, we will remain in compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order #17 (COVID-19).
