Sandra Louise Donaldson-Reed, a devoted woman of God, family, and community, walked into the arms of the Lord on Friday, September 24, 2021.
She was 63 years old.
“Mama San,” as she was affectionately known, was born December 23, 1957, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Before relocating to Knoxville, she worked and helped raise her younger siblings. She was PTA President, community activist, TENSE Summit member, small business owner, podcaster, and authored her first book as a two-time cancer survivor.
She was a faithful member of Fern Street Missionary Baptist Church.
Sandra joins her family in heaven as she was preceded in death by her mother, Jennie Lynn Cornelius; grandparents, Jethro and Beatrice Twitty Donaldson; niece, Shanerrick Twitty; aunts, Alma L. Twitty-Hill and Alice L. Twitty-Lowery; uncle, Frank Twitty and great aunt, Daisy Oliver.
Sandra is survived by her loving children, Sedrick Terrance Vanday Twitty, Leslie Tabitha-Shurra Donaldson and Anthony Maurice Donaldson, Jr.; siblings, Roberta Twitty, Karen Twitty, Lonnie Cornelius, Jr., Janet Cornelius, and Mary Cornelius; a host of other family and many friends to include her church family.
Saturday, October 2, 2021, a public walkthrough is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Payne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 2714 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN. Social distancing and face coverings are required. A Homegoing Celebration will follow for immediate family and close friends. Reverend Renee Kesler is the officiant and Minister Janice Blue is the eulogist. Interment at New Gray Cemetery, 2724 Western Avenue, where a white dove release will conclude the service.
