Shannon Porter

Shannon was born September 8, 1986, in Knoxville, TN.  She graduated Austin East High School, Class of 2005. A fashionista in her own right! She loved exploring with clothes and hair. Always full of energy, sass, silliness, she was the center of attention when walking into a room. From her voice to her laugh, her presence was definitely known!  Shannon also loved music and spending time with her loved ones. From being attached to her grandmother’s hip to planning the holiday gatherings, she showed off her culinary skills learned from her grandmother and the idea of family first.  Shannon had a strong work ethic too.  She enjoyed being a Customer Service Representative for Comcast the past four years.
Shannon was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, and best friend who will truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Porter and Jeffery Sewell; brother, Timothy “Rocky” O’Neal and grandparents, Fern Porter and Ackron Porter.

She leaves behind her loving siblings, Nathan Adebayo, Devin Jamison, Brittney Porter, Fredrica Guy, Kendall Marr, Dasani Reed, Marqui Jamison and Charlie Jamison Jr.; loving nieces and nephews Jaden, Travi’yonna, Lauren, Baby Nate, Abrielle, Liam, Noah and Lennox; stepfather, Charles Jamison; uncles, Ackron Porter Jr., Alex Sewell and Eric Sewell; aunts, Sharon Porter, Gwen McGraw and Denise Nance; a host of loving cousins and friends to include her best friends, Latasha Colbert and Ashley Sanders. 

Friday, October 22, 2021, a public walkthrough is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Greater Warner Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church, 3800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN.  Social distancing and face coverings are required.  A graveside service will follow at Berry Highland South Cemetery, 9010 W Simpson Rd, Knoxville, TN, where a white dove release will conclude the service.  Flowers may be delivered to the church the morning of the walkthrough.  Professional arrangements entrusted to Patton Funeral Home, Brian L.
