Sherry LaVonne Stewart Obituary

We celebrate the life of Sherry Lavonne Stewart, a beacon of unwavering love and selfless devotion, who left this world on February 17, 2024, at 73. Sherry, a lifelong resident of Knoxville, TN, graced this earth with her presence on June 2, 1950, and it was here that she drew her last breath, surrounded by the warmth of the same community.

The family was the cornerstone of Sherry's world. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Terrance (Terry) Stewart Sr., and his wife, Tina, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness in Knoxville. Her light will continue to shine brightly through her grandson, Terrance Stewart Jr., who will undoubtedly inherit her strength of spirit. Sherry's beloved sister and closest friend, Margina (James) Gary of Nashville, her niece Stacy Brown (Stephen), nephew Paul Willis, niece Nikki Hogan, and her children Taylor and Christian, will hold dear the memories of her boundless love and support—devoted cousins Krishna (Bryan) Crawford and Greg Stewart; best friend, Lawan Davis, also of Knoxville, will miss their shared joy and laughter.

Lifelong friends Joyce Portfield, Gloria Robinson, Rodney (Mable) Wilson, Muriel Johnson, Shelia (David) Gary, Clemmie (Eugene) Gary. A host of other friends and family who will miss her dearly.

Those who knew Sherry would describe her as loving, selfless, and faith-filled. She was a living example of the power of giving without expectation, loving without reservation, and faith that could move mountains. Her spirit was a guiding light that led by example, and her memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration.

As we gather to honor the life of Sherry Stewart, let us not mourn her passing but rather celebrate the indelible mark she has left on our hearts. Her journey was one of purpose, her actions a sermon of love, and her memory a testament to the beauty of a life lived for others. Let us carry forward her generous spirit, unwavering faith, and boundless capacity for love. In doing so, we keep the essence of Sherry alive, forever a part of the fabric of our lives.
