Shirlene McColley, aged 59, was welcomed into Heaven on December 25th, 2024. 

Shirlene was born on February 24th, 1965 and was raised in Chattanooga, TN. She eventually settled in Knoxville, TN where she raised her two beloved sons. Their biggest, loudest, and proudest fan, Shirlene was a fixture at every single game. She loved watching them play and encouraging them to be and do their best, both on and off the field. Shirlene continued to be a voice of wisdom and support as her sons grew into men.

She thought the world of her grandchildren and loved watching them grow and being their Granny.

Shirlene was a lifelong learner, proudly earning her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Pellissippi College in 2015. She loved a good debate, gaining new knowledge, and teaching others.

She also enjoyed cooking, dancing, singing, working out, reading, decorating, watching football and hashing out plays and results with her sons.

Shirlene is preceded in death by her parents, Lucy R Chapman and James McColley, and siblings: Shirley Clark, Ossie Chapman, and Brenda McColley. 

Shirlene was steadfast in her faith and is made whole again, reunited with her loved ones and is in the presence of her Savior.

She is survived by her sons, Tyrone Cobb and Terrance (Emily) Cobb; grandchildren Tyrone Cobb, Jr., Sha’Nary Cobb, Takiya Duncan, Maddux Cobb, and Reginald Cobb; siblings, Sandra Vance, Yvonne (Larry) Daniels, Kirby McColley, Tonette (Eric) Reed, Rodney McColley, and Roderick (Elizabeth) McColley; many cousins, nieces and nephews, and countless loved ones.

Unique and independent, Shirlene was one of a kind and dearly loved. The way she lived her life is a lesson to live in the moment, never settle, remain unapologetically authentic, and enjoy every second of it.

Her family and loved ones mourn her passing but rejoice in her Homecoming.
