Sidney T. Young, Jr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sidney Thomas Young Jr. also known as S.T., age 89.

He was born February 6, 1932, to Sidney Thomas Young, Sr. and Lula Denning Young.

Sidney was a graduate of Austin High School, class of 1950. He retired from TVA and was a Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Army. Sidney loved music and was a well-known musician who played trumpet with local bands. He was an avid reader, especially the Bible and loved spending time at the library.  He also enjoyed visiting friends in nursing homes and hospitals. Sidney loved the LORD and was a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and later joined Knoxville First SDA Church where he was a faithful member.

Sidney Thomas Young Jr., S.T., passed away September 23, 2021, at Beverly Park Place. 

Preceded in death by his parents, sister Theresa Jackson, uncle Frank Young and aunt T. Bell King.

Survived by his devoted cousin, Ramona Ladd-Burum, of Chattanooga, TN; devoted friends, Bryan Dove, Carol Jacobs, Bishop Zack Flack, Jimmy Duncan and other extended family and friends in Knoxville and Chattanooga. 

Tuesday, October 5, 202, family and friends will gather at 12:30 p.m. in the rotunda at the East TN Veterans Cemetery, 2200 Gov. John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN.  Pastor Mark S.
